Our Work / Community Generalists

The people making
community life work.

Some people organize events, teach, maintain resources, develop programs, care for neighbors, create cultural experiences, or make things their communities need.

Some do this professionally. Others volunteer because they enjoy it, believe in what they are doing, or simply like being involved. Many move between paid and volunteer work throughout their lives.

A network in development

Share experience. Find collaborators. Pursue ideas.

We're bringing these public-benefit workers and volunteers together through a Community Generalist Network where people can share experience, develop projects, find collaborators, and pursue ideas that might not fit within their existing organizations or circumstances.

Participation comes first

Paid work is one possibility, not the purpose.

For some, volunteering is a lifelong pleasure. For others, it's an opportunity to explore interests, develop abilities, build relationships, or discover a new direction.
